Sony D-25 cd player and case

This was bought second hand some years back without the adapter/charger and has been languishing in a drawer ever since. It looks pretty clean to me, rechargeable battery present and with case. The instructions were inside the case but I’m not even sure they’re the right ones. Hopefully this will go to someone who knows better than me what to do with it!
