When it was obtained, there was moderate battery erosion in the attached AA battery adapter compartment and the built-in rechargeable battery compartment as well. When batteries were installed in the attached adapter, there was no movement when trying to play a CD or any other function; the only indication that it could possibly work was a flashing red light in the “HOLD” switch. I was not able to test it with rechargeable batteries. This vintage CD player only comes with what is pictured: the CD player itself.
