D-350 Discman With Case, AC adapter, rejuvenated Battery Sony D-35

Sony D-350 Discman, fully restored. Set includes D-35 Discman, Protective Case, original Sony 9V adapter, and one restored BP-5 rechargeable battery. One of only two Sony Discmans with clam-shell protective cases, D-35 is one of the best/expensive-looking Discmans in my collection. Major drawback of this model is its internal 3.2V rechargeable battery – BP5. Unlike BP-2 rechargeables used in other Sony Discmans, it cannot be restored, Also, Discman’s charging voltage of 3.5V cannot charge Li-Ion 3.7V cells, such cells have to be charged separately. Fortunately, new 3.2V LiPo AAA-size batteries have perfect fit, and they can be charged by the Discman itself. Original Sony BP-5 battery cannot be used for restoration, so its mold had been used to make a new BP-5 battery. Clear epoxy was used to show battery internals. D-350 itself was completely disassembled, spindle motor exchanged for a brand-new one, laser re-calibrated. As always, AC-930A adapter received fresh Nichicon’Muse’ series smoothing capacitor.
