Sony D-15 Discman – Restored D-150 – With Case, AC adapter, restored BP-2

Sony D-15 Discman, fully restored. Complete set includes D-15, Protective Case with shoulder strap, original Sony AC-940A adapter, and one restored BP-2 rechargeable battery. One of only two Sony Discmans with clam-shell protective cases, D-15 also sounds surprisingly good because of its PCM60 DAC and powerful (9mWx2 into 32Ohm) headphone amp. Its major drawback is BP2 rechargeable battery. When inside protective case BP-2 is its only source of power (EBP-2 battery holder does Not fit), but all BP-2 batteries are dead by now.. D-15 Discmans went out of production before KSS-220A laser mechanism became available (around November 1989). Bad Luck was corrected for this particular D-15: its burned KSS-165A laser was substituted for one solid KSS-220A. Plays 80+min CD-R without any glitches, shows excellent tracking on skip-test CD. Headphone coupling was upgraded to 200uF Nichicon audio-grade electrolytics, also fresh caps for the power supply.
